ROLF ART is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition by Adriana Lestido and Juan Travnik titled, The Damned Spring, with the curatorship of Patricia Rizzo and Gabriel Díaz, on Wednesday, October 11 from 7pm, at Esmeralda 1353, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
DAMNED SPRING, proposes an unprecedented dialogue between these two renowned Argentine artists. Both Adriana Lestido and Juan Travnik photographed young teenagers during the 80’s and 90’s. In the case of Adriana, mainly in her series Adolescent mothers, those of the Infanto Juvenil Hospital, as well as in her work Mothers and daughters and in her well-known series Mujeres Presas. In turn, during this period, Juan Travnik made a series of studio portraits, Adolescencia, one of his first essays.
This exhibition brings together for the first time these two photographers who approached the same theme, at the same time, but from very different places proposes a cross between them. As individuality is recognizable, its works are found in a profound and subtle way at the same time. This photographic dialogue, of more than sixty images, immerses us in adolescence, a beautiful and difficult stage of transition and change, which was portrayed by both artists, where the characteristics of that age emerge with intensity in the meeting of these two looks.

ROLF ART se complace en anunciar la inauguración de la muestra de Adriana Lestido y Juan Travnik titulada, La Maldita Primavera, con la curaduría de Patricia Rizzo y Gabriel Díaz, el día miércoles 11 de octubre a partir de las 7pm, en Esmeralda 1353, Buenos Aires, Argentina. La muestra de entrada libre y gratuita, podrá visitarse de lunes a viernes de 11 a 20h hasta el 24 de noviembre de 2017.
LA MALDITA PRIMAVERA, propone un diálogo inédito entre estos dos reconocidos artistas argentinos. Tanto Adriana Lestido como Juan Travnik fotografiaron a jóvenes adolescentes durante los 80’ y 90’. En el caso de Adriana, principal- mente en su serie Madres adolescentes, aquellas del Hospital Infanto Juvenil, como también en su obra Madres e hijas y en su reconocida serie Mujeres Presas. A su vez, durante dicho período, Juan Travnik realizó una serie de retratos en estudio, Adolescencia, uno de sus primeros ensayos.
Esta muestra que reúne por primera vez a estos dos fotógrafos que abordaron la misma temática, en un mismo momento, pero desde lugares muy diferentes propone un cruce entre ambos. Siendo reconocible la propia individualidad, sus trabajos se encuentran de manera profunda y sutil a la vez. Este diálogo fotográfico, de más de sesenta imágenes, nos sumerge en la adolescencia, bella y difícil etapa de transición y cambio, que fue retratada por ambos artistas, donde las características propias de esa edad surgen con intensidad en el encuentro de estas dos miradas.
