Rolf Art is pleased to announce the opening of the group exhibition RARE Photography, an exploration of the invaluable connection between history, technology, and art through photography.
The exhibition brings together an exceptional selection of works encompassing various approaches and techniques, from historical photographic processes to contemporary innovations. Through vintage prints and limited editions, documentary photography and rediscovered images, as well as experimental and alternative processes, RARE Photography traces the evolution of the photographic medium and its ability to reshape our perception of time, memory, and the materiality of the image.
The exhibition presents previously unseen material that unveils the individual creative and research processes of the participating artists. Visual diaries, print proofs, laboratory notes, and visual records take on the status of artworks, revealing the experimental and conceptual dimensions of photographic practice.
The exhibition features works by 17 renowned Latin American artists: Marie Louise Alemann (1927-2015) , Marcelo Brodsky (1954) , Andrés Denegri (1975), Vivian Galban (1969), Gabriela Golder (1971), Roberto Huarcuaya (1959), Adriana Lestido (1955), Francisco Medail (1991), Verónica Meloni (1974), Cristina Piffer (1953), Santiago Porter (1971), RES (1957), Celeste Rojas Mugica (1987), Humberto Rivas (1937-2009), Silvia Rivas (1959), Graciela Sacco (1956-2017), Julieta Tarraubella (1991). These artists challenge the boundaries of visual creation, using photography as a key medium to reinterpret and transform reality, avoiding conventional constraints and stereotypes.
The opening event will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2025, from 6 PM at Esmeralda 1353, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The exhibition, with free admission, will be open to the public Monday to Friday, from 11 AM to 7 PM, running until April 11, 2025.

Rolf Art se complace en anunciar la apertura de la exposición colectiva RARE Photography, una exploración del vínculo invaluable entre la historia, la tecnología y el arte a través de la fotografía.
La muestra reúne un conjunto excepcional de obras que abarcan distintos enfoques y técnicas, desde procesos fotográficos históricos hasta innovaciones contemporáneas. A través de impresiones vintage y ediciones limitadas, fotografía documental e imágenes redescubiertas, así como procesos experimentales y alternativos, RARE Photography traza un recorrido por la evolución del medio fotográfico y su capacidad de reconfigurar nuestra percepción del tiempo, la memoria y la materialidad de la imagen.
La exposición presenta un material inédito que descubre los proceso individuales de creación e investigación de los artistas que la componen. Diarios Visuales, pruebas de impresión, apuntes de laboratorio y registros visuales adquieren aquí el carácter de obra, revelando la dimensión experimental y conceptual de la práctica fotográfica.
Se reúnen obras de 17 destacados artistas latinoamericanos: Marie Louise Alemann (1927-2015) , Marcelo Brodsky (1954) , Andrés Denegri (1975), Vivian Galban (1969) Gabriela Golder (1971), Roberto Huarcuaya (1959), Adriana Lestido (1955), Francisco Medail (1991), Verónica Meloni (1974), Cristina Piffer (1953), Santiago Porter (1971), RES (1957), Celeste Rojas Mugica (1987), Humberto Rivas (1937-2009), Silvia Rivas (1959), Graciela Sacco (1956-2017), Julieta Tarraubella (1991) quienes desafían las formas de la creación visual, partiendo desde la fotografía como un medio clave para reinterpretar y transformar la realidad, así evitando quedar atrapados en convenciones y estereotipos.
El evento de inauguración tendrá lugar el día jueves 21 de febrero de 2025 a partir de las 6 pm en Esmeralda 1353, Buenos Aires, Argentina. La muestra, de entrada libre y gratuita, podrá visitarse de lunes a viernes de 11am a 7pm, con una permanencia hasta el día 11 de abril de 2025.
