No hay experiencia más sublime que sumergirse en la multitud cuando toma las calles. Es una vivencia sensorial plena: al clamor de los cantos de protesta, al olor de las fogatas arrebatadas y al perfume de las comidas callejeras, al roce permanente con otros cuerpos, al despliegue colorido de banderas se suma ese calor en el alma producido por sentirse parte de un pueblo que elige poner el pecho antes que entregarse de rodillas. Tomar las calles agrupa breves filmaciones en Super 8 realizadas durante tres marchas de diferentes tonos. Una es la clásica marcha que se realiza en Argentina cada 24 de marzo para recordar que nunca más volveremos a soportar una dictadura cívico-militar, y que aún queda un trayecto marcado por la memoria, la verdad y la justicia. Otra es en reclamo por una gran deuda que estuvo pendiente por demasiado tiempo, el derecho al aborto legal, gratuito y seguro, aprobado en Argentina el pasado diciembre de 2020. La tercera es una marcha de trabajadores en reclamo por la apertura de paritarias. Derechos humanos, derechos civiles, derechos obreros; la posibilidad de un mundo mejor se empuja desde la calle.

There is no more sublime experience than plunging into the crowd when taking the streets. It is a full sensory experience: to the clamor of the songs of protest, to the smell of the fires caught and to the perfume of the street foods, to the permanent rubbing with other bodies, to the colorful display of flags that heat is added in the soul produced by feeling part of a town that chooses to bite the bullet rather than surrender to its knees. Take to the streets, gathers three films shot in Super 8 during three different demonstrations. One is the classic ritual-march that takes place in Argentina every March 24 to remember that we will never again tolerate a civic-military dictatorship, and that there is still a path marked by memory, truth and justice. Another is a claim for a large debt that was pending for too long, the right to legal, free and safe abortion, approved in Argentina last December 2020. The third is a march of workers in demand for the improvement of the working conditions. Human rights, civil rights, labor rights; the possibility of a better world is pushed from the street.
